Officers talk down jumper on Braga Bridge in Fall River
Police helped save a man who appeared to be attempting to jump from a bridge this evening.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., a call came into dispatch about a possible jumper on I-195 East on the Charles Braga Bridge.
Upon arrival, officers found a man who had climbed over the suicide barrier and was hanging on the outside of the barrier.
Officers were able to talk the man down and by approximately 6:45 p.m., they had him in custody.
Both FRPD and Massachusetts State Police were on scene.

Swansea Ambulance was transporting a patient to the hospital and saw the man climbing up the fence. The female paramedic called police via radio, got out of the ambulance and talked to the jumper distracting him until police arrived.
