Off-duty Fall River Firefighters Union members come to aid of injured 11-year-old
For two Fall River responders there is no off-duty.
According to the IAFF L-1314 Fall River Firefighters Union, yesterday evening, two of their members were off-duty enjoying the new Pickle Ball Courts at Kennedy Park when they sprung into action.
.
Unfortunately, the members witnessed an 11-year-old girl crash her bike and put the bike handlebars through her lower left quadrant of her abdomen.
Members quickly called 911 while providing first aid and even were able to make notifications to her parents. EMS was able to just scoop up the patient and go right to Hasbro Hospital in Providence, RI.
The union stated that both members are trained and licensed EMT’s, including the son of one of the members, who was also there playing.
We and the members wish the 11-year-old girl a speedy recovery.
