Missing Norton autistic and non-verbal 6-year-old located, transported to hospital as road is shut down

Police have located a missing child.

According to Tim McGuirk of Massachusetts State Police Media Relations, shortly before 3:00 p.m. on Friday, Norton Police requested State Police assistance in a search for a missing, autistic and non-verbal child who was last seen at their residence.

The 6-year-old girl named Josephine went missing in the area of Power Street.

State Police dispatched members assigned to the Foxborough and Middleborough Barracks, the K-9 Unit, the Special Emergency Response Team, the Airwing, and the Underwater Rescue Team. Police located the child and facilitated emergency transport to a local hospital.

Power Street has since been closed.

McGuirk stated that there was no information on the child’s condition at this time.
