Norton man charged in stabbing of Attleboro man
Police have arrested a Norton man in response to a weekend stabbing.
According to Norton Police, on Sunday, at approximately 1:00 a.m., Norton Police responded to City Oasis, a bar located at 50 Pleasant Street, Norton, for a report of a stabbing. Upon arrival, police observed several people outside in the parking lot, including a male lying on the ground. After a brief investigation, police arrested Richard Fagerberg, 22, of Norton.
Witnesses told police that a fight ensued inside the establishment, which moved to outside, where Fagerberg stabbed another male with a box cutter type knife.
The male victim, from Attleboro, was transported by the Norton Fire Department to Sturdy Memorial Hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Fagerberg was charged with two counts of assault and battery, one count of assault and battery by means of a dangerous weapon and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon.
