Norfolk District Attorney’s Office announces death of 49-year-old pedestrian killed attempting to cross highway
The Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and Randolph Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian crash, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said today.
Police were dispatched at approximately 9:10 p.m. Tuesday to the area of 650 Mazeo Drive (Route 139) in Randolph where the pedestrian, a 49-year-old Braintree man, was struck by a pickup truck while attempting to cross the road, District Attorney Morrissey said.
He was taken to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later. His name is not being released pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of a pickup truck, a 28-year-old Canton man, remained at the scene.
Assisting in the investigation are the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section and the MSP Crime Scene Services Section.
No charges were immediately filed.
