Norfolk District Attorney: Man dead in apparent drowning at local pond

Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and Randolph Police are investigating an apparent drowning Sunday at a pond in Randolph, Norfolk District Attorney Michael Morrissey said.

The Randolph Police and Fire departments received a 911 call about a swimmer in distress at a pond on Pond Street at approximately 4:00 p.m.

The man was located by firefighters a short time later and was transported by ambulance to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No other information was released.
