Norfolk District Attorney: 34-year-old man with stab wounds charged in murder of 26-year-old woman
Massachusetts State Police assigned to the Norfolk District Attorney’s Office and the Quincy Police Department are investigating a homicide that occurred last night at an apartment complex on Falls Boulevard, Norfolk District Attorney Michael W. Morrissey said today.
Quincy Police were dispatched to an apartment at 500 Falls Boulevard at approximately 11:00 p.m. Saturday after receiving a 911 call. Responding officers found a 26-year-old woman and a 34-year-old man with serious injuries inside the apartment, Morrissey and Quincy Police Chief Mark Kennedy said.
The woman, whose name is not being released pending notification of next of kin, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The man, Guiovani Garcia of Quincy, sustained apparent stab wounds and was transported to a Boston hospital for treatment.
Garcia faces murder charges and is anticipated to be arraigned tomorrow at which time more information is expected to be released.
Massachusetts State Police detectives and Quincy Police are being assisted by the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section and chemists assigned to the MSP Crime Lab. The Quincy Fire Department and Brewster Ambulance also responded.
The investigation is active and ongoing with no further information released.
