New TikTok challenge not causing injuries, but getting students in hot water

A new TikTok challenge is spreading across the country. This particular challenge may not injure teens, but it could land them in a lot of hot water.

The challenge, known as “devious lick”, began by having users post a TikTok video of them stealing items from school which in turn would generate likes and views. Some of them in the millions.

The trend has now apparently advanced to stealing and destroying property at a school. From destroying bathrooms to stealing hard drives.

Police departments in states across the country are reporting the incidents from California to Utah to Texas to Florida and they are warning those that complete the challenge that there will be consequences.

One police department stated on social media that “any students who participate in any vandalism or destruction of school property will face criminal charges to the fullest extent of the law. So be the better person and don’t let yourself be put into this situation. Parents, please encourage your student not to get involved in this destructive behavior.”

In addition to the devious lick challenge, TikTok has seen dangerous challenges such as the black out challenge, the fire challenge, and the Benadryl challenge.
