New restaurant coming to iconic Somerset train; here is what you can expect
A new restaurant will be opening at a Somerset landmark in the coming months.
The Rehoboth Baking Co. has announced that they are renovating the historic dining car at 938 Lees River Avenue.
The eatery will be called Railway Pie.
RBC is a bakery cafe that serves an array of breakfast, lunch, dinner and drink options offering artisanal breads, bakery goods, and sourdough pizzas on Park Street in Rehoboth.
RBC and Railway Pie owner Paul Booras gave Fall River Reporter an idea of what you can expect at Railway Pie.
“I am still working through ideas, but the menu will be reflective of our big brother location Rehoboth Baking Co. We will for sure have a local focus in season and employ (our) slow fermentation process for artisan pizza and hand-crafted sandwiches. One thing that could be exclusive to Railway Pie is the addition of Charcoal Chicken, served with our signature hot honey butter focaccia and choice of sides.”
While the train is a beloved structure in Somerset, the location has recently seen several restaurants occupy the space.
Choo-Chew announced in January of this year that they would be closing their doors. Missing Link BBQ closed in the summer of 2024. In November of 2022, The Railway Cafe announced on social media that the restaurant would no longer be in business at the train.
Railway Pie is aiming to open in June.
