New restaurant at Somerset train set for soft opening this week
A familiar barbeque spot that recently closed appears to be quickly getting replaced.
Missing Link BBQ opened in a trailer in Dartmouth in July of 2022 at 335 Old Fall River Road and then moved to 938 Lees River Avenue in Somerset at the end of last year before closing early last month.
Missing Link was owned by Somerset residents Tom Lyon and Doug Moniz.
While Moniz will not be part of the new venture, Chef Lyon will be, according to a social media post.
“Tom’s new restaurant (Choo-Chew) will have some familiar favorites, along with some newer options.”
Choo-Chew’s soft opening will begin Wednesday, September 4th from 4-8pm.
Their outdoor dining area will start off as a seating area for takeout orders only. There will be no table or counter service outside, for now. However, indoor dining (inside the train) will be full service.
They do not have their liquor license yet, so only soft drinks will be sold at this time.
Online ordering will not be available right away, so call in your takeout orders to, 774-888-9517. Catering is also available.
The menu features salads, burgers, sandwiches, pulled pork made to taste like a hotdog, chicken, and brisket.
Hours this week:
Wednesday 9/4: 4pm-8pm
Thursday 9/5-Saturday 9/7: 11am-8pm
Sunday 9/8: 11am-6pm
