New Indian restaurant coming to Fall River at a location that just closed days ago

A new restaurant is coming to Fall River at a spot that just announced a few days ago they were retiring.

Ownership of Ed’s Famous BBQ on Brayton Avenue announced Wednesday that they had closed effective immediately, stating a lot of factors were involved in making the decision, some of which were personal.

On Friday, ownership of NY Fresh Bagel & Bakery located at 248 Jefferson Street told Fall River Reporter that they would be transforming the property across the street at 756 Brayton Avenue into an Indian restaurant with the opening not far off.

“I have to do (work on the) inside. I will start to work (on the) inside from 8th of July, and it will take (a couple of weeks to) arrange everything.”

Currently, there is no predominately Indian restaurant in Fall River.

KUN Kabob and Curry, an eatery serving Middle Eastern and Indian cuisine in West Bridgewater, was expected to go in front of the Fall River Licensing Board in March concerning a new location at 1050 Bedford Street, the former JC’s Cafe, however, they never appeared which leaves the project possibly in limbo.
