New Hampshire woman reportedly on her way to family in Maryland ejected in fatal Massachusetts highway crash

An early morning Massachusetts highway crash claimed the life of a New England woman.

According to Massachusetts State Police, at just before 3:45 a.m., State Police responded to a single-vehicle fatal crash on Interstate 84 west near exit 5.

Once on scene, Troopers discovered a vehicle that spun 180 degrees and came to rest in the middle travel lane. The body of the deceased operator was not in the passenger cabin.

For the safety of motorists and first responders, officials closed the highway for approximately 3 hours to conduct an on scene investigation with the assistance of Crime Scene Services and the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Sections.

The decedent is identified as Beth Wittenberg, 59, of Rochester, New Hampshire.

MSP offered their condolences to her family and loved ones.

According to her social media post, Wittenberg was on her way to visit family in Maryland. She was also an accomplished artist.
