New England restaurant chain adding 5 new locations, including 2 in Bristol County

A local restaurant chain is adding 5 new locations in Massachusetts, including 2 in Bristol County.

Tavern in the Square has become one of the most popular neighborhood restaurant/bar destinations with locations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. What started more than 20 years ago in Cambridge’s Central Square has grown into a multi-location chain known for consistent American comfort food and a lively atmosphere.

The company announced Thursday that they will open in North Andover in September 2026, Seekonk in January 2027, Dartmouth in the spring of 2027, Norwell in the fall of 2027, and Quincy in the winter of 2027.

The chain states that they are built on a foundation of friendship, hard work, and organic growth.

Tavern in the Square offers classic American tavern fare including starters like Bang Bang Broccoli, Bavarian Pretzels with beer cheese, fried pickle chips, nachos, wings, and chicken dumplings; salads such as Caesar, chopped Greek, and various topped greens; handhelds and sandwiches including burgers (Tavern Burger, blackened bacon & blue), crispy chicken sandwiches, fish tacos, and wraps; pizzas like BBQ chicken and classic cheese; bowls such as ahi tuna or salmon; and mains like bacon mac & cheese, Bayou chicken pasta, General Tso’s chicken, and fish & chips, plus seasonal specials featuring lobster items.
