New business to break ground in Fall River’s Industrial Park early next year
A new business is coming to Fall River’s Industrial Park.
According to Boston Real Estate Times, VMD Companies has sold a 16.3-acre lot to FreezPak Logistics, a national cold-storage third party logistics company. A 200,000-square-foot development will be built on the lot at 10 Innovation Way.
VMD Companies purchased the 147-acre industrial park property at 10 Innovation Way in 2023. The price for the sale of the building lot to FreezPak, which closed Sunday, was $10,750,000.
FreezPak will build a 203,397-square-foot state-of-the-industry Class A cold storage facility on the site and are expected to break ground in early 2025.
“Innovation Way and the Southcoast market has quickly become a primary target for cold storage in the Greater Boston Market,” said Phil Down, Chief Executive Officer and Cofounder of VMD Companies. “The Campus further lends itself to future cold storage and manufacturing users with immense utility infrastructure in place and market-leading clear-height entitlements. “
“We are thrilled to welcome such a reputable company as Freezpak into the park to kick off this development and are equally excited about what the future holds for the balance of the project,” Down said. “This is the first phase of what is to become an economic engine within the market offering modern amenities for growth-oriented companies.”
Located across from a 1.4-million-square-foot Amazon distribution center, The Campus at Innovation Way will feature one building of 291,200 square feet and three of 202,800 square feet each. They are permitted for up to 85 feet of clear height, with ample utility and electrical power and 24-hour allowed operation, suitable for life science, R&D, distribution and warehousing, cold storage, and manufacturing uses.
