New Bedford NYE Celebration made possible by sponsorships
The city of New Bedford hosted a New Year’s Eve celebration this past week with the help of local businesses who chipped in to fund the event.
The festivities included indoor and outdoor events for the whole family with the first of its kind LED drone show instead of traditional fireworks that capped off the night.
You can see the fun drone show here.
According to Public Information Officer Jonathan Darling, the budget for the New Year’s Eve celebration was $42,000 which covered entertainment, marketing and supplies for the night. Darling said approximately $35,000 of the budget was funded by the sponsorship of Bristol County Savings Bank, Claremont Companies and Vineyard Wind.
“We strive to provied first-class entertainment for our residents and visitors. We’re extremely thankful to Bristol County Savings Bank, Claremont Companies and Vineyard Wind for supporting the City’s New Years Eve celebration,” said Darling.
The city of Fall River did not host any end of year events this year and requests to Mayor Coogan’s office regarding future New Year’s Even events have not received a response as of today.
