New Bedford man dies after injuries sustained in motor vehicle crash
It has been revealed that a New Bedford man has died from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle crash.
26-year-old Arthur T. Alves, Jr. passed away on Friday, December 22nd from injuries sustained in the collision.
Alves died in a single car crash near 781 Ashley Blvd. in New Bedford at approximately 8:15 p.m. according to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office. Alves struck a parked truck while driving alone in his Nissan Sentra. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to an obituary, Alves was a dedicated hard worker and was employed at Petroleum Engineering in Bellingham, but his heart was with his daughter.
“Arthur was a loving father to his daughter Hazel. She was the light and love of his life. He would spend countless hours taking her to playgrounds, walks on the beach and out to eat. He was the greatest dad a man could be. A life cut short way too soon.”
Services for Alves were private.
