New Bedford man being held on bail after arrest on driving, ammunition, and drug charges
A local man is reportedly being held on bail after an incident that took place late last week.
According to police, on Thursday night, the Rochester Police Department made an arrest, and Chief of Police Michael Assad Jr. issued a warning.
“If you drive around Rochester with a suspended license (subsequent offense), ammunition without an FID, drugs without a prescription, speed, and then try to destroy the evidence… you’re gonna find out what happens. That’s what we call in Rochester, Drive Around Find Out (DAFO)! A reminder to everyone: follow the law, drive responsibly, and keep our streets safe. Team RPD will be out working to make sure you do.”
Nicholas Ouimet of New Bedford was arrested and stayed the night at the Plymouth County House of Correction.
According to court records, at Friday’s arraignment, Ouimet pled not guilty and was committed back to the Plymouth County House of Correction in lieu of having posted bail in the amount ordered: ($1,000.00 bond; $100.00 cash).
His next scheduled court appearance is a probable cause hearing on November 10th.
The Rochester Police Department reminds the public that all individuals mentioned are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
