New Bedford, Fall River residents arrested in Seekonk human trafficking sting
Several people have been arrested after a recent sting.
According to Seekonk Police Chief Dean Isabella, on Wednesday, the Seekonk Police Department conducted an undercover sting operation to combat the growing threat of human trafficking.
Officers working in an undercover capacity arranged to meet suspected sex workers through a website known to be used for illegal prostitution.
Four suspects met the undercover officers at various locations in Town and were placed into custody for numerous offenses including: sexual conduct for a fee, conspiracy, possession of heroin, and active arrest warrants. A fifth subject was charged with distributing class B and D drugs.
Those arrested were 25-year-old Rebeca Trotta, of New Bedford, 24-year-old Kayla Jean Botelho, of Fall River, 25-year-old Breon Stroup of New Bedford, 67-year-old Cheryl Reyes of North Kingstown, and 24-year-old Katlin Rose Ciccarone.
