Nearly 3 inches of rain falls on Fall River Saturday afternoon
You didn’t need a rain spotter yesterday to know that Fall River got hit hard and fast with some much needed rain Saturday afternoon. What wasn’t needed was the flooding and damage.
According to Southern New England CoCoRaHS observers, Fall River saw 2.9 inches of rain during yesterday’s storm. More streets flooded then you could count. North Main, Rodman, Pleasant, Warren, the list goes on and on. Car after car was stranded on area roadways which kept the Fall River Police and toe truck drivers busy. Even the Braga Bridge flooded on both sides. With drains not fully clear on the bridge, they were no match for the torrential rain that fell in the area.
The flooding even caused a show at Lyrics Bar and Grill to be canceled and Tequila Lime Cantina to close for the day.
Here is a recap of some of the flooding yesterday.
