National organization recognizes Fall River police officer after going above and beyond for young mother
A national organization is recognizing a Fall River police officer.
Leaders Helping Leaders, who providers leadership training for police officers, has featured Avantay Pereira after a recent incident.
Officer Pereira was dispatched to the address of a single mother who needed assistance and had no one else to call.
Once he arrived, Officer Pereira noticed that the mother had a seven-week-old baby and she was running dangerously low on baby formula but had no money to purchase more. The only food items in the house were a pack of chicken nuggets and a bag of potatoes.
Officer Pereira went to the store and purchased a supply of formula for the child with his own money. He also contacted a local organization to help the single mother and her child with more assistance going forward.
LHL thanked Officer Pereira, for his genuine kindness and for going out of his way to help someone in need.
Pereira is the second Fall River officer to be featured as Sgt. Frank Andrade was highlighted previously.

“THINKING”
”Wonderful News” when our “Public Safety”, “Fire” and “Paramedics” are Recognized!
Sad when certain Politicians wish to ‘Defund Them, and take away Qualified Immunity’.
If that happens in MA, who would wish to be in “Public Safety in Massachusetts”.
