Narragansett Police take suspect into custody after woman found deceased
NARRAGANSETT — Chief Sean Corrigan reports that the Narragansett Police Department is investigating a suspicious death.
On Monday, at just before 1:30 p.m., the Narragansett Police Department responded to Inkberry Trail for a report of deceased female under suspicious circumstances.
Once on scene, officers and detectives conducted a preliminary investigation. The victim was pronounced dead and officers took a suspect into custody. The suspect is cooperating with authorities.
The victim’s identity is being withheld at this time, pending formal identification and next of kin notification procedures.
Due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, police stated that no additional details are being released at this time.
Narragansett Police noted that there is no threat to public safety.
The Narragansett Police Department stated that they will provide updates as more information becomes available.
