Names released in fatal Brockton stabbing that left one man dead, another charged
BROCKTON — Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police are investigating the fatal stabbing of a 35 year-old man, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
At approximately 8:30 p.m. last night, Brockton Police received multiple 911 calls reporting an altercation was taking place at a residence at 158 Lisa Drive. Brockton Police and emergency medical personnel responded and found a male victim unresponsive and bleeding from multiple stab wounds. The male was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead. He has been identified as 35 year-old James E. Jennette of Brockton.
Brockton Police contacted Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office and an investigation commenced. Preliminarily, the investigation found that an altercation ensued between the male victim and Robert J. Savignano, 25, and Jennette was stabbed. The pair were roommates and resided together at the Lisa Drive home.
As a result of the investigation, Savignano was placed under arrest and charged with one count of Murder. He is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow in Brockton District Court.
The investigation is ongoing.
