Colonel Ann C. Assumpico, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety, reports that a Providence resident died in a one-car fatal crash on Route 10 in Cranston earlier today. Two passengers were injured.
Miguel A. Revolorio, age 28, of 13 Glenbridge Ave., Providence, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. He was driving south on Route 10 in Cranston, just south of the Reservoir Avenue overpass, when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to spin. It then hit a curb, causing it to roll over several times before it travelled across an onramp and up a grassy embankment, where it struck several trees.
Revolorio was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
A rear-seat passenger, identified as Victoria Bautista, age 19, of 89 Garfield St., Central Falls, was ejected from the vehicle. She sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
A front-seat passenger, identified as Jonathan B. Ortiz, age 23, of 89 Garfield St., Central Falls, also suffered non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time.
Both were transported to Rhode Island Hospital.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by troopers from the State Police Lincoln Woods Barracks and the Collision Reconstruction Unit.
