Name of 20-year-old Brockton man who died from gunshot wound released

BROCKTON – Massachusetts State Police and Brockton Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man, Plymouth County District Attorney Timothy J. Cruz has announced.
At approximately 3:30 a.m. Friday, Brockton Police received a 911 call stating that a male party was trying to open the car doors of motor vehicles parked along Monson Street. The caller described the male party as wearing a dark colored jacket with fur. At approximately the same time, Brockton Police received another 911 call from a caller stating that they heard gunshots outside their residence, and saw someone lying face down on the sidewalk out front.
Brockton Police and emergency medical personnel responded and located a male victim with an apparent gunshot wound on the ground in front of 88 Lenox Street.
The victim was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital where he was pronounced dead of his injuries.
According to the DA’s Office, the deceased is 20-year-old Syncere Lindsay.
Brockton Police and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Plymouth County District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate. Preliminarily, this incident does not appear to be a random act of violence.
