Multiple injuries reported in two-vehicle crash on Route 18
Two people have been injured after a serious crash Wednesday evening.
According to the Lakeville Fire Department, Lakeville Firefighters responded to the intersection of Bedford Street and Kenneth Welch Drive for a collision between a Jeep and a minivan. Lakeville dispatchers reported the occupants of the vehicles were trapped and injured.
LFD responders (Ambulance 1, Engine 1, Car 1, and Car 2) arrived and initiated medical care and extrication operations.
The first patient was removed from their vehicle and advanced life support care initiated. Ambulance 2 transported the adult male patient to St. Luke’s Hospital for further treatment.
The second patient was trapped in their vehicle because of the position of the first vehicle and the guardrail. Ambulance 1 responded out to the scene.
The first arriving tow truck assisted firefighters by pulling the empty vehicle off of the second vehicle. This action allowed firefighters to extricate the second patient.
The second adult male patient was transported by A1 to Morton Hospital.
Lakeville PD provided assistance and protection from passing vehicles.
