Multiple crashes shuts down Route 24 South in Fall River
Multiple crashes reportedly led to the shutdown of a local highway on Saturday afternoon.
At just before 4:45 p.m., a call came into dispatch for a rollover with 3 vehicles involved just prior to exit 5 on Route 24 South.
Secondary accidents due to the first accident were also reported which led to the highway being shut down in the area of the initial crash.
A witness stated that emergency vehicles had a difficult time getting to the accident due to vehicles filling the breakdown lane.
Multiple rescues were called to the scene.
The cause of the crashes is under investigation.
