Multi-vehicle crash on Route 138 results in 6 treated, ladders through windshield
Several people were injured in a collision Wednesday morning on a local highway.
According to the department, Portsmouth Firefighters responded to a multi-car crash at the intersection of East Main Road (Route 138) and Boyd’s Lane. Callers reported multiple people injured and ladders through the windshield of a car. Car 3, Engine 3, Rescue 1 and Rescue 2 responded.
Upon arrival, two vehicles were heavily damaged in the crash.
6 people needed evaluation/treatment which resulted in two additional rescues from Tiverton and Bristol as mutual aid. Two people were transported to area hospitals, the other 4 were treated on scene.
The crash is under investigation.
