Multi-vehicle crash leads to two being transported to New Bedford hospital, including juvenile with significant injuries

A multi-vehicle collision on Friday morning resulted in serious injuries.

According to the department, the Lakeville Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle collision in the area of 201 Bedford Street, the site of the former Orchid of Hawaii.

The crash occurred shortly after 11:00 a.m. and prompted the response of Ambulance 2, Ambulance 3, Engine 1, Squad 3, and Car 1.

Two patients were transported from the scene to St. Luke’s Hospital: an adult female and a female minor. The pediatric patient sustained significant injuries and remains under care at the hospital.

Fire Chief Mike O’Brien commended the responding firefighters for their professionalism and swift action.
