Moving gift turns into $160,000 Massachusetts State Lottery win; here is how she plans on spending it

Not many of us know what it is like to receive a gift worth 6 figures, but that is exactly what happened recently.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Lynn Syrcle of Port Richey, FL won a $200 a week for life prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$200 a Week for Life” $2 instant ticket game.

Syrcle, who received the instant ticket as a gift for moving to Florida, chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $160,000 (before taxes). She plans to invest with the winnings. 

She did not know it was a winner until she scratched it in Florida which led her to take a quick trip back to Boston to claim her prize.

The winning ticket was purchased at Arge’s Liquors, 18 Boston St. in Salem. The store will receive a $2,080 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

$200 a Week for Life has 4 grand prizes remaining.
