Motorcycle crash on Route 138 in Raynham causes multiple injuries
RAYNHAM — Police Chief James Donovan and Fire Chief James T. Januse report that the Raynham Police and Fire Departments responded to a motorcycle crash on Route 138 near the I-495 South on-ramp Monday morning.
Route 138 at the scene of the crash and the on-ramp to I-495 South were partially closed with limited access.
At approximately 6:15 a.m., rescuers responded to a report of a motorcycle crash on Blue Star Memorial Highway (Route 138).
Upon arrival, first responders located the male operator of a motorcycle off the road near a wooded area with a serious leg injury. He was taken by a Raynham Fire Department ambulance to Rhode Island Hospital. His injuries do not appear to be life-threatening at this time.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the motorcycle collided with a sedan driven by a woman who was attempting to turn from Route 138 onto the I-495 South on-ramp.
The woman driver was also transported to a local hospital for minor injuries.
The cause of the crash is being investigated by the Raynham Police Department’s accident reconstruction unit.
Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call Raynham Police at 508-824-2716.
