Mother releases details after 12-year-old Massachusetts child dies after fall from third-story window

More details are being released after tragedy struck over the weekend when a child died after an incident.

According to a District Attorney spokesperson, the Southbridge Police Department and Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the Worcester County District Attorney’s Office continue to investigate an unattended death in Southbridge on Saturday morning.

Initial reports suggest that a juvenile fell from a third-story window.

The Office of the Massachusetts Chief Medical Examiner has accepted the case and an autopsy is pending.

The matter remains under investigation.

The spokesperson stated that no further information will be released at this time, however, WCVB confirmed what Fall River Reporter had heard Monday morning, 12-year-old Arya Lebeau was spending Friday night with friends when the incident took place.

Charlene Cabrera, the child’s mother, stated that when she dropped her daughter off, she was told a parent was home. But two hours later, police told her that Arya fell from a window, and no parents were home.

“I was told it was a kick, and she fell out the window,”

A GoFundMe fundraiser has raised over $11,000 for funeral expenses.

Services have not yet been announced.
