More details released as with new school opening, Diman Regional in Fall River set to host “Final Walkthrough” to give alumni, public, one last visit

More details have been released as alumni and members of the public will have one last time to go down memory lane at the current Diman Regional in Fall River.

The school’s administration has told Fall River Reporter that Diman will be hosting a “Final Walkthrough” that will be open to alumni and members of the public on Sunday, July 12th, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

You can come walk the halls, revisit the shops that built your skills, and participate in the school’s “Fill a Bag” Fundraiser supporting the Diman Alumni Scholarship Fund.

With the new Diman building slated to open this fall, active construction means parking will only be available on the street. Please follow the signs when you arrive!

Construction on the new Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School in Fall River has been progressing steadily and will open to students at the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year.

The project, which broke ground in November of 2023, will replace the outdated existing facility with a modern, state-of-the-art building designed to better serve vocational education needs.

More than 190 workers from Suffolk Construction have been bringing “Diman’s innovative vision to life, building state-of-the-art vocational and academic classrooms, an auditorium, gymnasium, offices, and more.”

The demolition of the old building and completion of the new fields are expected to be finished by August 2028.

As of last summer, the build was confirmed to be on budget with a $305 million price tag for the 395,000 square foot structure. Fall River will be contributing just over $100 million to the effort—reflecting the city’s heavy investment since approximately 76% of Diman’s students reside here.
