More details emerge as suspect in crash that killed 17-year-old appears in court
The suspect in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Route 95 was in court Tuesday.
30-year-old Aramis Segura, who was located by police under his bed, is facing charges of Leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death, Driving to endanger – resulting in death, Obstruction of Justice and Operating on a suspended license.
Segura, who has a long rap sheet featuring close to 40 charges, is currently held as a Superior Court probation violator on a previous charge of Breaking and Entering. Segura’s previous charges include third-degree sexual assault and child molestation.
According to ABC 6, Segura admitted to drinking three beers and smoking marijuana before the crash.
Segura’s Facebook profile posted on social media just a few hours before the crash that he planned on drinking and crashing his car.
“Really caring less and less today really hitting hard f*** it we came I To this earth alone we die alone so why do I care. No ima drink and see what happens I’m a f*** yo I have a benz let’s see if I can f*** it up.”

Witnesses of the crash reportedly saw Segura at first leave the scene of the crash, then return to the scene, and then leave again.
Segura’s girlfriend picked him up in East Greenwich.
The crash killed 17-year-old Olivia Passaretti. The family of the high school student is looking for justice in what they feel was a premeditated incident.
“Our condolences go out to the loved ones of the victim for their loss,” said Colonel James M. Manni, Superintendent of the Rhode Island State Police and Director of the Department of Public Safety. “The investigating Troopers worked very hard to quickly apprehend the suspect and we are working with the Attorney General’s office to ensure that justice is served.”

How did this man get away with all of his previous charges? Of course, he was escaped serious prosecution before so why not try something again. This is a perfect example of the failure of the system. He should be charged with premeditated murder and kept behind bars for the rest of his life.
