Missing Attleboro woman found dead Tuesday
A woman who had been reported missing by police on Tuesday has been found dead.
According to Detective Lieutenant Tim Cook Jr., the decedent found yesterday outside of an apartment building on Mary Street has been identified as 44-year-old Janessa Isaacs, who had previously been the subject of a missing person investigation.
The passing of Isaacs does not appear to be suspicious in nature and foul play is not suspected, however, the investigation is on-going by Attleboro Police Department Detectives and the Massachusetts State Police Detective Unit assigned to the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office.
According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, Isaacs, was discovered in the backyard of 32 Mary Street sometime between 4 and 4:30 pm yesterday by residents of the home. The residents immediately called police upon the discovery.
Police had been searching for the deceased since Monday morning. The deceased’s longtime boyfriend contacted police Monday morning out of concern for her well-being.
The state Medical Examiner’s Office has taken custody of the body and will conduct an autopsy and toxicology tests to determine an exact cause and manner of death.
