Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen Competition in Westport to feature several from the South Coast

Fall River, Mass. – March 27, 2022 — The 22nd annual Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen Competition is coming to White’s of Westport and the area is well represented.

The competition features Tess O’Riordan of Canton, Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen 2021 and 10 beautiful, intelligent, and talented teenagers from across the Commonwealth. Many of which are from right here in the South Coast.

They will compete for scholarship money and the opportunity to represent Massachusetts at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Competition this summer.

The show will feature performances by O’Riordan, who is a dancer, the candidates, as well as the Spotlight Dance Studio of Taunton dancers.

Producer and choreographer Amanda Narciso Ponte was Miss Massachusetts 2013 and competed at the Miss America Pageant in Atlantic City, NJ. This is her ninth year producing the competition.

Several former Miss Massachusetts’ Outstanding Teen state titleholders will be special guests at the show along with visiting State Teen and Miss titleholders from across New England. Also making a special appearance will be Elizabeth Pierre, Miss Massachusetts 2021 who was the 2nd Runner up to Miss America 2022 Emma Broyles of Alaska at the 100th Anniversary Miss America Competition this past December at the Mohegan Sun Casino and Resort in Connecticut. Miss Massachusetts 2011 Molly Whalen Noonan will be the emcee.

The competition is the official state preliminary for the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen program. The mission of the MAOTeen organization is to promote scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living, and community involvement for America’s teens. The competition is open to young ladies 13-18 years of age, and they will participate in personal interview, talent, evening wear/onstage question and lifestyle and fitness.

A limited number of VIP tickets at $40.00 (plus fees) remain, along with General Admission at $25 (plus fees). Tickets may be available for purchase at the door the day of the event by cash or check only.
