Better late than never, especially when we are talking about a big State Lottery scratch ticket win.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Jessica Boutin of Palmer is the winner of the fifth and final $1 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$1,000,000 Winning 7” instant ticket game.

She chose the annuity option on her prize and received the first of 20 annual payments of $50,000 (before taxes). Boutin said she plans on saving for retirement and purchasing a new car for her mother with the winnings.

Boutin got the ticket as a birthday present and misplaced it for over a year. She found it, scratched it and hit for $1 million.

She purchased her winning ticket at Woodbine Country Store, 170 Main St. in Monson. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
