Middleborough Police officer placed on administrative leave
After an incident today that occurred concerning a Middleborough Police Officer, Chief Joseph Perkins has releasing the following statement to the public on the matter:
“Today, a Middleborough Police officer was placed on administrative leave pending the results of an investigation by Massachusetts Environmental Police.
The investigation stems from an incident in which the off-duty officer was allegedly involved in a crash while riding an ATV early Saturday morning in Middleborough. The officer and a passenger suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were both transported to the hospital.
As is department protocol with all crashes involving ATVs, Middleborough Police immediately turned the investigation over to the Massachusetts Environmental Police and MPD will be fully cooperating with their investigation. Our department will also be conducting its own internal investigation into the matter.”
