A Bristol County eatery has lost what may be its unofficial mascot.

Owner of the Purple Rooster Cafe at 463 E. Washington Street in North Attleboro, Diana Martinez, announced that a metal rooster that she has had for 10 years that was out in front has been taken.

It disappeared either Christmas day or Thursday.

Martinez knows it wasn’t much, but it was hers.

“I don’t have a lot. Everything I have goes into my restaurant. It was just a garden rooster I picked up. I just hope whoever took (it) did so because they needed a Christmas gift and couldn’t afford one.”
