A Massachusetts woman reportedly murdered by her husband was remembered this weekend.

A memorial service for Ana (Ljubičić) Walshe was held Saturday at the Nativity-Assumption of the Virgin Mary (Panagia) Greek Orthodox Church in Cohasset, MA.

His Grace Bishop Anthony Vrame, along with Fr. Constantine Cambus of Nativity-Assumption of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church of Cohasset, and Fr. Aleksandar Vlajkovic of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of Cambridge led the Orthodox Memorial Service in remembrance of Ana.

Friends and family of Walshe described her as a vibrant, joyful, loving, and devoted woman who was a wonderful mother, friend, and businesswoman. Her death leaving a void in her loved ones.

Walshe was a 39-year-old mother of three young boys who lived in Cohasset. She worked in real estate and property management and was originally from Serbia. She disappeared and was last seen or heard from on December 31, 2022, or January 1, 2023, at the family home.

Her husband, Brian Walshe, reported her missing and authorities quickly suspected foul play due to inconsistencies in Brian’s story, his behavior, and evidence uncovered during the investigation. No body has ever been recovered.

Key evidence included Brian’s internet searches in the days following her disappearance, such as queries about how to dispose of a body, dismemberment methods, cleaning up blood, and other incriminating topics (e.g., using terms like “10 ways to dispose of a dead body”). He was also accused of purchasing items such as cleaning supplies, tarps, and a hacksaw around that time. Evidence suggested he dismembered her body and disposed of the remains in various locations, possibly including dumpsters or bodies of water in the area.

Brian Walshe was arrested and charged with first-degree murder, misleading a police investigation, and related offenses. He pleaded guilty to some lesser charges (like misleading police and improper disposal of a body) but denied actually killing her.

The high-profile murder trial took place in Norfolk County Superior Court in Dedham, Massachusetts, in late 2025. After a two-week trial featuring testimony about the couple’s strained marriage (including financial issues, infidelity allegations, and arguments), a jury found Brian guilty of first-degree murder in December 2025.

He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
