Meal train, online fundraiser, organized for family after crash on I-195 in Rehoboth left woman deceased, children injured
Fundraisers have been organized for a local family after a fatal highway crash on Monday morning that also injured several others.
According to Massachusetts State Police Trooper Leah O’Connell, Troopers assigned to the Dartmouth Barracks responded to a single-car crash on Interstate 195 East at mile marker 4.2 in Rehoboth.
Preliminary information indicates that the adult operator suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash.
The female operator and 3 of her children were transported to a Rhode Island hospital via ambulance. Unfortunately, the operator succumbed to her injuries.
Massachusetts State Police say that they are not providing the identity of the woman for privacy reasons, however, a meal train has been created for the family in addition to a GoFundMe fundraiser.
The fundraiser describes the deceased as selfless, loving, and beautiful.
According to a social media post, one of the juveniles is in the ICU with a broken foot, broken arm, broken neck, broken jaw and a brain bleed.
The deceased reportedly lived in New Bedford.
