MassDOT: Two bridges over I-195 set to close to replace existing bridge joints
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is announcing it will be temporarily closing the Anthony Street Bridge located over I-195 in Seekonk.
The closure will take place beginning tonight at 8:00 p.m. and continuing until 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 3.
The bridge closure is needed to allow crews to replace the existing bridge joints along the entire width of the bridge. A detour will be in place as listed below.
Traffic originating from the south side of the bridge:
-Vehicles will be directed to Route 114A northbound by following Route 6 westbound.
-Take a right onto Route 114A.
-Follow Route 114A to the intersection with Cole Street.
-Take a right onto Cole Street.
-Follow Cole Street back to Anthony Street (north side).
Traffic originating from the north side of the bridge:
-Vehicles will be directed to Cole Street.
-Take a right onto Cole Street.
-Follow Cole Street to the intersection with Route 114A.
-Take a left onto Route 114A.
-Follow Route 114A to intersection with Route 6.
-Take a left onto Route 6 and follow to Anthony Street (south side).
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is also announcing it will be temporarily closing the Barney Avenue Bridge located over I-195 in Rehoboth.
The closure will be in place from 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, through 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 4.
The temporary bridge closure is needed to allow crews to replace the existing bridge joints along the entire width. A detour will be in place as listed below.
Traffic originating from the south side of the bridge:
-Vehicles will be directed to take Mason Street.
-Follow to the intersection with Providence Street.
-Take a left onto Providence Street.
-Follow back to Barney Avenue (on the left) on the north side of the bridge.
Traffic originating from the north side of the bridge:
-Vehicles will be directed to Providence Street.
-Follow Providence Street to intersection with Mason Street.
-Take a right onto Mason Street.
-Follow to intersection with Route 6.
-Take a right onto Route 6 back to Barney Avenue.
