MassDOT to improve sidewalks on Route 6, project to take approximately 6 months
The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is announcing it will be performing sidewalk improvements on the eastbound section of Route 6.
The work will take place from Candy Apple Drive to Cross Road in Dartmouth. The work will begin on Monday, March 7, and occur Monday through Friday during daytime hours from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The work will continue weekly for approximately six months.
The work primarily will consist of pedestrian safety improvements. Traffic management operations will include daily traffic setups with temporary lane closures to allow for excavation, curb installation, and placement of gravel, hot mix asphalt, and concrete.
Drivers who are traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency.
