MassDOT advances $13+ million lighting upgrade project under Fall River Government Center

The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is moving forward with a highway lighting upgrade on Interstate 195 beneath City Hall in Fall River, according to project information released by MassDOT.

The project, officially titled “FALL RIVER- HIGHWAY LIGHTING UPGRADES ON I-195 UNDER CITY HALL PLAZA,” focuses on improving lighting infrastructure along that section of the interstate.

MassDOT received the 100% design package on August 2nd. Construction is scheduled to begin in Spring 2027.

The estimated total contract cost is approximately $13.3 million, with federal participating construction costs estimated at about $13.7 million.

No Transportation Improvement Program data is currently listed for the project.

The project is managed by Koby Lemrise and was first initiated and approved by the Project Review Committee in early 2020.

No specific contracts have been awarded yet.
