Massachusetts woman wins final $2.5 million grand prize on State Lottery instant game; here is how she will spend it

A Massachusetts woman is making a lifechanging decision after winning lifechanging money on a scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Celene Chen of Boston is the winner of the third and final $2.5 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$2,500,000 Merry & Bright” $10 instant ticket game.

Chen chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $1,625,000 (before taxes). She said plans to use her winnings to buy a house.   

She purchased her winning ticket at Players Cafe, 950 Hyde Park Ave. in Hyde Park. The store will receive a $25,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
