Massachusetts woman wins $25,000 a year for life after playing same numbers for over 30 years
Some special numbers turned out to be very lucky for a Massachusetts woman.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Marina Costello is the winner of a $25,000 a year for life prize in the multi-state Lucky for Life game after the first five numbers on her ticket matched those selected in the October 3 drawing.
Costello, who is from East Boston, said her winning numbers are a collection of birthdays and favorite numbers that she has been playing for over 30 years.
Costello claimed her prize Monday, October 16 at Massachusetts State Lottery headquarters in Dorchester. She chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $390,000 (before taxes). She said she plans to use some of her winnings to buy a car.
Her winning ticket was purchased at Eagle Hill Convenience Store, 213 Trenton St. in East Boston. The store receives a $5,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
