Massachusetts woman will be on the move not once, but twice, after hitting $2 million lottery prize
A Massachusetts woman’s life has changed in a big way after recently hitting big money on a lottery game.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Almasa Cajic of Lynn is the winner of a $2 million prize on a Powerball ticket purchased in Massachusetts for the multi-state game’s drawing last week that featured a $1.04 billion jackpot, the eighth largest jackpot in the game’s history.
Cajic won the prize after the first five numbers on her ticket matched the first five numbers in the drawing. By playing the Power Play option for an additional $1, she was able to turn a $1 million prize into $2 million. To win the jackpot prize, all five winning numbers plus the Powerball number must match the numbers drawn.
She claimed her $2 million prize (before taxes) at the Massachusetts State Lottery’s Dorchester headquarters. She plans to use her winnings to purchase a house in Massachusetts as well as to purchase one in Bosnia.
Her winning ticket was purchased at Robinson News Convenience, 1556 Eastern Ave. in Malden. The store receives a $20,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
