Massachusetts woman who rarely buys scratch tickets hits $10,000,000 State Lottery prize; here is what she plans to do with it
It’s not easy winning big money in the lottery, but when you do, its sweet, as it was for a Massachusetts woman recently.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Sarah Newton of Pittsfield is the winner of a $10 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$200X” $20 instant ticket game.
Newton chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $6,500,000 (before taxes). She said she plans to buy a house and help her family with the winnings.
Newton told the Lottery that she rarely plays but liked this particular ticket.
She bought her winning ticket at Convenience Plus, 480 W Housatonic St. in Pittsfield. The store receives a $50,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
$200X has two $10,000,000 and five $1,000,000 prizes remaining.
