Massachusetts woman who allegedly threw bloody tampon into crowd of Trump supporters agrees to pretrial probation
A Massachusetts woman has agreed to a punishment during a hearing today involving an incident with Trump supporters.
Brooke Wallis, 23, of Northampton, appeared in Northampton District Court via Zoom, for an agreed-upon disposition in connection with an Oct. 18 incident that took place in downtown Northampton at a political rally. Northampton Police arrested Wallis after she allegedly threw a bloody tampon into a crowd of supporters of President Donald Trump as they rallied on Main Street.
At today’s hearing, Wallis agreed to be placed on pretrial probation for four months on a count of disorderly conduct. During her probationary period, Wallis must complete 30 hours of community service and avoid further legal trouble. If Wallis successfully completes her probationary period, the disorderly conduct charge will be dismissed.
Wallis originally faced an additional charge of assault by means of a dangerous weapon, which the District Attorney’s Office today dismissed.
Under Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 276 Section 87, the Court, with approval of a judge, may place a defendant on pretrial probation, an agreement between the prosecutor and defendant before a trial or a plea of guilty.
Judge Maureen Walsh presided over today’s hearing. Attorney Brett Lampiasi represented Wallis and Assistant District Attorney Andrew Covington represented the Commonwealth.
