Massachusetts woman plans on spending wisely after walk with uncle turned into $1 million scratch ticket win

A Massachusetts woman is already thinking smart after hitting big money on a State Lottery scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Achili Guardado Canales of Everett is the winner of a $1 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Triple 777” $5 instant ticket game.

Guardado Canales chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She said she plans on spending her winnings wisely. 

She went out for a walk with her uncle and grabbed a $5 instant ticket instead of her regular $1 or $2 ticket.

She purchased her winning ticket at Fernandez Brothers Liquors, 79 Williams St. in Chelsea. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

Triple 777 has two $1,000,000 prizes remaining.
