Massachusetts woman plans on letting the money work for her after hitting big $1 million State Lottery prize

A Massachusetts woman knows exactly what she is doing with her big State Lottery prize after hitting on a scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Cristiane Freitas of Taunton is the winner of the third and final $1 million grand prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “Waves of Cash” instant ticket game.

She chose the cash option on her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). Freitas plans on investing her winnings.

She purchased her winning ticket at Canaan Fuels, 53 Court St. in Taunton. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
